Art & Sole : Retail Shoe Store + Shoe Repair : Portland, Oregon : 2002 - 2012
In addition to being an artist and designer, I owned a shoe store in Portland for 10 years. My background in footwear began at an early age working for my father in his Bend, Oregon shoe shop. A couple decades later I started Art & Sole in my garage as an online portal for Birkenstock repair. From there I moved my operation to a retail store front (on Interstate Ave. then to NE Alberta St.) where I offered high quality footwear by brands such as Ariat, Dansko, Crocs, Redwing, NAOT and Sanita.
Creating and running my own business allowed me to grow as artist, an entrepreneur and as sales and marketing professional. I posses a life-long passion for footwear - that is a part of my heritage.
